The Friends Meeting House in Kendal is an important
Quaker building dating from the early l9th Century and is now the permanent
home of a fascinating exhibition.
The Quaker Tapestry Exhibition displays over 50 panels
of narrative crewel embroidery celebrating the ideas and experiences of Quakers
since 1652.
Explore this fascinating Exhibition which will delight
visitors of all ages. At Kendal's historic Friends Meeting House you will
find yourself setting out on a unique journey through nearly 350 years of
history. This exquisite Tapestry was created by over 4,000 men, women and
children in 15 countries .The gift shop offers a wide selection of quality
gifts, books and mementoes of the Tapestry.
The Exhibition is designed to give easy access for
wheelchairs. Groups and school parties are welcome but are asked to book
in advance please.
Opening Times: Mon - Sat 10am-5pm, Early Spring to
Late Autumn.
